This presumption you just elaborated on...I see you've connected it to an example from the American Constitution...but do you know of any court rulings that support your interpretation...?

From all the court cases I've seen the Constitution protects from government infringements on these rights...the government not providing trials within a reasonable time has never been a reason for any victims to file a legal case against the government or the accused as far as I know unless you can direct me to any case law contradicting this...
It's hard to follow your logic. Nearly every court case relates in one way or another. All of US law, much of Western law really, is concerned with the rights of the individual. If someone steals from me, the law is broken. I have an advocate in my government and its laws.
If I'm the accused thief, I ALSO have an advocate in my government and its laws. The right to a speedy trial is a right of the accused. The right to a trial of the accused, provided the government is satisfied that there is a case against the defendant, is a right of the victim. Neither outweighs the other in the view of the law.

The right to a trial of the accused, provided the government is satisfied that there is a case against the defendant, is a right of the victim. Neither outweighs the other in the view of the law.
Actually your logic is really hard to follow...if it was as you say then why hasn't any victims in any cases that are set for trial filled any claims against the government for delay of trial yet accused file these claims to the courts regularly...?

If neither outweighs the other in view of the law why doesn't it state anywhere specifically that victims have the right to have their trials dealt with in a reasonably time but the law specifies it for the accused...?

All case law is of course connected to other cases through the precedent of previous court rulings...so if what you say is true that the victim right to a speedy trial is a constitutional right the courts at some point would have specified it and so there should be some case precedent you can find about this - but there is none...

The fact that courts rule that trial not go to trial at all because the rights of the accused have been infringes proves that the accused has rights that outweigh the victims interests to get a trial...

So I know most don't like it but victim rights are not constitutional rights but could be regular laws various levels of governments enact...

This might mean that the new product coming, will be as good, or better then before. Who knows, maybe he faked it, but didn't make it?!?!
If true, for sure. Was Dan the driving force behind everything? Was Justin useless?

I haven't been following all this like other fans have (I literally just binged the entire series last year), but I'm not seeing much in terms of Justin being a douche reported on over the years. Or maybe I missed it - I wasn't exactly looking.

I know I wasn't impressed in any way, by "Solar Opposites". In fact, I think it kind of sucked.

Apart from Gravity Falls, I don't think there is much of his work that I really followed. And even that is a stretch.

@Mr. Daystar how about you? Is there anything other than RM that he did which stuck out for you?

I watched a few episodes years ago. People were selling it as polemic and funny as hell at the time, but i found it extremely generic. Like Futurama, but less funny and creative

Justin Roiland cleared of the domestic violence charges

https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/justin-roiland-domestic-violence-charges-dropped-1235561877/

Rick and Morty” creator Justin Roiland has been cleared of domestic violence charges, Variety confirms. Kimberly Edds, spokeswoman for the Orange County District Attorney’s office, said in a statement: “We dismissed the charges today as a result of having insufficient evidence to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.”

Roiland took to social media to respond to the dropped charges, writing in a statement that he is “thankful the case has been dismissed. He added, “I’m still deeply shaken by the horrible lies that were reported about me during this process.”

“I have always known that these claims were false — and I never had any doubt that this day would come,” Roiland said in the new statement. “I’m thankful that this case has been dismissed but, at the same time, I’m still deeply shaken by the horrible lies that were reported about me during this process. Most of all, I’m disappointed that so many people were so quick to judge without knowing the facts, based solely on the word of an embittered ex trying to bypass due process and have me ‘canceled.'”

Roiland added, “That it may have succeeded, even partially, is shameful. However, now that the legal case has ended, I’m determined to move forward and focus both on my creative projects and restoring my good name.”

Let the blowback begin.

To state the obvious, it will be interesting to see if the show backtracks and lets him resume the roles.

Probably worth noting that this wasn't a finding of innocence, and it was the DA who dismissed the charges, and not the judge. That's not to say that he's not totally innocent, but rather that there is going to be doubt about the charges.

Dismissed charges should be considered as that there never should have a prosecution to begin with...

Season 6 is on Hulu, I start a little latter today, and will be done, by the weekend.

Strip, you will have my thoughts very soon.

Well, I'm 5 episodes in, and a couple were good, and a couple were not as good, but I highly approve of episode 3.

Well, I finished season 6. I'll watch it again, but it's not as good as season 5, in my eyes. I hope 7 does better, and can't help but wonder if Justin's personal issues are why season 6 isn't as good as 5. Now that things have smoothed out for him, we'll see what comes next.

But again, episode 3 was really, really good.

Wow, it was literally 2022 when that season was on. Hulu needs to rethink their rights so they can show those eps a little earlier.
Off the top, I remember I liked the Die Hard ep. The meta ep was also a good example of the genre they do so well.

Yes, the Beth Lez troupe spawned a whole new genre of rule 34 fanart. It's good to see Space Beth become more important.

I feel like this season wasn't really worth the wait. I need to watch it again, but I liked 5 better. Last pic I have.

Great parody song. Just like the show, lots of meta humour if you look for it.

Ok Strip, I watched season 6 again, and it was better the second time around, but I still think last season was better, and the Beth on Beth episode was the best. Actually it was one of the best from the series, not as good as Pickle Rick, or the killer sperm, but it is in the top 5 best episodes.

I agree, S5 as a whole had stronger eps, my fav being Mortyplicity.

As for S6, I am a fan of the StoryLord ep. Always great to see them bring back characters.
Also the league of meta-nerds was cool - I hope they are revived since there seems to be so much you could do with their powers.

Interesting that they kept Roiland's cards at the end of this season's episodes.
